The ETCISO Conclave, slated for August 24-27 at Rajasthan’s Udaipur, has attracted a fair amount of attention among India’s enterprise security decision makers. A four-day residential summit, the Conclave will host 100+ delegates from the crème de la crème of enterprise across industries.

The Conclave symbolizes the emphasis on the cybersecurity space- which remains as critical as ever, given the growing threat surface, and the emerging threat actors.

Platforms like the ETCISO Conclave provide us with the much-needed opportunity to network with peers and technology companies to understand what exactly is going on in the industry - which is very important in cybersecurity.S Srikanth, CISO, Tata Electronics

Srikanth’s observations come at a time when the global cyber security market size is growing and with a reason. According to Grandview Research’s “Cybersecurity Market Size, Share & Growth Report 2030," the cybersecurity market was valued at USD 202.72 billion in 2022 and was projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12.3% from 2023 to 2030. The report also highlighted that increasing number of cyber-attacks with the emergence of e-commerce platforms, deployment of cloud solutions, and proliferation of smart devices were some of the factors driving the growth of the market.

Cyber threats are anticipated to evolve with the increase in the usage of devices with intelligent and IoT technologies. As such, organizations are expected to adopt and deploy advanced cyber security solutions to detect, mitigate, and minimize the risk of cyber-attacks, thereby driving market growth.

“Vulnerabilities are everywhere and on the rise - ChatGPT will fuel AI driven threat actors; ransomware will continue to be the biggest things to watch out for in the coming year too,” says S Srikanth, CISO, Tata Electronics.

The CISO’s role becomes very important and is now in the forefront.

While the CEOs and the boardroom are taking cognizance of cyber-risk, it is still largely felt that they are more focused on the business side. Srikanth reflects, “Boardrooms are proactive now - but across industries should wake up to cyber-risk, and its larger implications.”

Cybersecurity summits such as the ETCISO Conclave have consistently sought to provide cybersecurity leaders the timely opportunity to exchange knowledge, best practices and unwind with the right amount of fun quotient thrown in. Srikanth looks forward to simple simulations, fireside chats, keynote addresses from key government stakeholders, among others, at this year’s edition.
